Yay books! From the library, I took out The Sky is Falling by Kit Pearson, which I'm reading right now. I read it before maybe twelve years ago, and so far it's just as good as I remember. I also took out Jane by April Lindner, which I might read in a hurry tomorrow and post the review on Valentine's Day. Maybe. Last, I took out Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty. Someone recommended this one to me on my other blog, but I completely forget who. I should start writing down who recommends me books, or tagging the posts so I can check back later. I also took out some more travel books. I bought The Hunger Games, since I'm a bit mental and it was driving me crazy that my paperback didn't match my hardcovers. I'm really anal. And, thankfully, Costco sells books for very cheap. I'll give my old copy to the library bookstore I volunteer at.
That's it for me, what was in your mailbox this week?
Hi Emma, thanks for dropping by GatheringBooks. You also have a great loot today from the library. You should get cracking on The Hunger Games soon as the movie is about to be shown in the theaters. You won't regret it. I know it's been getting a lot of hype, but it's very well-deserved. I read all three books in a month last year (I think it was right about March), and I consider it one of my greatest book series of all times. :) enjoy the rest of your books!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've actually already read it a few times, but I'll probably reread it before the movie comes out.
ReplyDeleteGreat books! I've read all of Kit Pearson's books, they are fantastic. I've been eyeing Jane for a while so I'm eager to hear what you think of it! And Sloppy Firsts is super funny!

I'm in the same situation you were in. I have the paperback of The Hunger Games and the hardcovers of Catching Fire and Mockingjay. It's killing me that they are not the same format! Whenever I can spare the money, I'm buying the hardcover.
ReplyDeleteI've also been meaning to read The Skying is Falling for a while. Like 3 years actually. I have the Guests of War compilation book (w/The Skying is Falling, Looking at the Moon, & The Lights Go On Again), but I'm just too caught up in new releases that I haven't taken the time to read them!
Great books this week. I loved Jane and The Hunger Games and I actually just read Sloppy Firsts last week. It was such a funny book. Happy reading!

I really liked the 1st 2 books in the Hunger Games, I still really confused about my feeling for the ending. Looking forward to seeing the movie though.
ReplyDeleteI really want THG hardbacks!
ReplyDeleteI love The Hunger Games. Can't wait for the movie :) Enjoy reading!
