About Me

My name is Emma and I'm 22 years old. I live in Ontario, Canada and recently graduated from University with a degree in history.

My love of reading started when I was 9 and read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for the first time. Although there had been books that I loved before that point (like The Hobbit,) I didn't love reading as a whole. It was something I often had to do, and I occasionally had fun doing it, but over all it wasn't my favourite activity. A few chapters into the first Harry Potter book and I was already convinced that nothing was better than the joy of books. I was happy to find hundreds of books I had ignored before all waiting for me. Soon, I was certain that books were better than orange soda, bicycles and even summer holidays. Since then, I've read quite a few books and my love for reading has never faltered.

My favourite books are the Harry Potter series, I Capture the Castle, Pride and Prejudice, The Fault in Our Stars, The Time Traveller’s Wife, The Book Thief, The Shadow of the Wind, The Bell Jar, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Golden Compass, The Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Book Thief, Anne of Green Gables, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Never Let Me Go, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

I’m a nerdfighter, whovian and Ravenclaw. Aside from books, I love Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, Merlin, Skins, Misfits, Disney Movies, Star Wars, Musicals, Amelie, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, ET, The Philadelphia Story and Love Actually. I listen to Stars, Metric, Sufjan Stevens, Of Montreal, Feist, Ella Fitzgerald, Adele, Regina Spektor, Crowded House, Jeremy Messersmith, Belle and Sebastian, The Beatles and Kristin Chenoweth.
