Gifts For the Book Lover

So you have a friend who’s a lover of books. I’m jealous! It might feel like they own every book in existence, but there’s still some things you can get for your bookish friend.

1.  Out of Print clothing, iPhone covers, tote bags and kindle covers. For each item sold, Out of Print donates one book to a community in need through Books for Africa.

2. An Invisible Bookshelf  From Barnes & Noble: "Talk about magic — how about a stack of books clinging to the wall with nothing to support them! The secret is the ingenious Invisible Floating Bookshelf, which does its job in the most minimal sense possible."

3. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes Poster This poster is made from the text from ten of the stories in that volume. You can also find posters for Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Anne of Green Gables, Don Quixote, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and many more.

4. Moleskine Passion Book Journal From Chapters.ca: "Discover Moleskine Passions - journals for the loves of your life. The Book Passions journal is designed for those who love reading. Each Book Passions journal features a fully-embossed cover, 3 ribbon place markers, and a double expandable inner pocket. Included in the journal are distinct areas for organization: alphabetically organized sections to fill in, 6 tabbed sections to personalize, 14 blank pages for notes and thoughts, a free customized bookmark, and a series of adhesive labels for further customization."

5. Penguin Merchandise You can find Penguin coffee mugs, journalstote bags and water bottles

6. Bookends These Bookends are practical and decorative. From Barnes & Noble: "Stack your tomes between smoothly crafted cutout bookends that announce their function in capital letters! Made of white wrought metal, these stunning library accents come from the design studios of Torre & Tagus, the undisputed specialists in contemporary home decor."

7. Books About Loving Books For example, you could buy The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield, The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer for adults; The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky for teens; and Inkheart by Cornelia Funke for middle graders.

8. A New Copy of an Old Favourite Has your friend lost a favourite book or has a copy that’s in rough shape? It could be nice to get them a new copy, maybe even in special edition. For example, you could buy a Barnes & Noble leather-bound classic. You can also buy Penguin's Clothbound Classics.

9. Jane Austen Quotes on clothes, dish towels, mugs and onesies. These items are homemade by Brookish on etsy, and are all inspired by Jane Austen.

  1. I love the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe t-shirt more than life itself. I was toying with asking for the Pride and Prejudice fleece on that website for Christmas actually.

Believe it or not, I've asked for that edition of A Christmas Carol as well! You know it's a great list when I already own/want half the things on it!

I love the Moleskine book journal thing - I keep meaning to make notes for my reviews but it NEVER happens and then I forget everything. Although that'd mean SOMETHING else to carry in my handbag and it's heavier than I am already.

  3. Thanks fore the share. These bookmarks also make great gifts for book lovers. They essentially double as a card so you can write a nice little message on the inside and maybe stuff it with a Barnes and Noble gift card while you're at it :).
