In my reviews, I include the title, author, publisher, publication date and genre. I begin the review with my own synopsis, and then discuss my thoughts and feelings about the book. I focus on the writing, characters, plot and themes. When I rate the book at the end of the review, I do this based on a five star rating.
1/5- I disliked this book. I had difficulty finishing it.
1.5/5- I didn’t like this book.
2/5- It was okay.
2.5/5- It was all right, but not for me.
3/5- I liked it! I wouldn’t reread it, but it’s good.
3.5/5- It was pretty good! I’d recommend it.
4/5- It was great! I might even re-read it.
4.5/5- It was amazing! A must-read!
5/5- I loved it! It’s one of my favourites. I often won’t give a book this rating until I have re-read it.
I will always give an honest and fair review. Even if I do not like a book, I will try and focus on its positive attributes as well as its flaws. I am by no means a professional reviewer, and I review books for fun. My reviews are informal and focus on the basic elements of the novel.
I post reviews on tumblr, blogger and goodreads. I will do my best to review a book in a timely fashion, and can have a review online two weeks after receiving the book.
